
On 26th August, 2024, the Consulate-General in Port Louis, Mauritius, organised the maiden “Ghana Day” Business Forum in collaboration with the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Mauritius and Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), under the Theme: “Ghana, the Preferred Investment Destination in West Africa”.
The objectives of the Forum were among other things to showcase Ghana as the preferred investment destination in West Africa and to enhance Ghana-Mauritius economic and trade relations.
It also involved a panel discussion, the theme of which was “Forging an Alliance to Bolster Trade and Investment Opportunities”.
The Consulate also mounted an exhibition stand which displayed an array of quality products that bore the Made-in Ghana label.
The Special Guest of Honour for the occasion was, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum- Sarpong (MP), former Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (Political and Economic) and the main speaker was Mr. Reginald Yofi Grant, former CEO of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre. Other Speakers included Mr. Ken Poonoosamy, Former CEO of Economic Development Board of Mauritius and Dr. Drishtysingh Ramdenee, former Secretary Generalof Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event has been acclaimed by the Mauritian government as very fruitful and successful as more that 70 people including businessmen and women participated.
